Interested in learning how you can obtain DOIs for your scholarship? Join us for lunch!
You have probably seen DOIs for online scholarly content (example: http://dx.doi.org/10.1108/02640470610689151). A DOI (digital object identifier) is a persistent and unique identifier of an object. They help to support the discovery and citation of scholarship.
Join Fondren staff for lunch and a presentation on the library’s new DOI minting services, which can facilitate DOI assignment to content in library-managed repositories (e.g., Rice Digital Scholarship Archive) and other university-managed platforms that are committed to long-term preservation and access. DOIs can be assigned to individual “one-off” items or long-term projects, such as scholarly journals.
