Pre-Registration Now Open! Annual Presidential Career Symposium (APCS) in the Texas Medical Center

We would like to inform you that pre-registration to attend the 6th Annual Presidential Career Symposium (APCS) is now open. The event will be held on Thursday February 16th 2017 from 730 am to 7 pm at Mid-Campus 1 Building, MD Anderson Cancer Center.

The title of this year’s APCS is “Beyond PhD: Discover à Act à Achieve”. We have organized a full day of breakout sessions and workshops that will be useful for post-doctoral researchers and graduate students to understand their future career choices and opportunities in the biomedical field and beyond. We will also offer networking opportunities after each session in the form of Coffee Breaks and during a formal reception in the evening.

Presidential Management Fellows Program – Due December 1st

The PMF Class of 2017 application period opened on Friday, November 18th. We have over 1,900 applicants to date as of Friday, very encouraging news for the future leadership of our country. Please encourage your graduate students to apply for this prestigious program. The PMF Program is perfect for talented professionals who want to make a difference by strengthening our government institutions. This class of Fellows will work on policies and programs that directly impact the welfare of our Nation’s citizens. From national security to environmental protection to housing programs, Fellows are placed into jobs that challenge them to find new solutions to the complex challenges of government and learn the leadership skills they need to build a successful career.

This year, the PMF Program Office is working very closely with agencies to place Finalists into positions as soon as the selections are made. We are on target to announce 2017 Finalists in early January and soon after that, we will host our virtual hiring event.
